We are doing the Underground Railroad blocks in my quilt guild & I am making mine 6 1/2". My monkey wrench block is coming out much bigger than 6 1/2" & I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I've gone over all of my cutting measurements & they are right. Did you have any trouble with your block? How big is your inner block?

hi Kay. the inner block is 3 in. finished. doublechecking it measures 3-1/2 in. before you continue was really important. also important was to measure the sewn bar or side segments before you continue. so on pg. 41 you should pencil in that the 2 in. segments should be 1-1/4 in. wide. and on pg. 44 you should pencil in that your 3-1/2 in. segments should be 2 in. wide. hopefully this helps.

I purchased the book and reproduction fabric but have been intimidated to start it. I'm a fairly novice quilter but maybe one day...
