X thru XII
please visit other participants listed here.Heathcliff is ba-ack! no one knows where he has been. nor why he has returned. but checks in to find his young love married to the neighbor boy. at this point imagine a few episodes of Real Kids of WHTG. everyone acting out in order to get an unpleasant reaction. which makes the reading quite fun. his solution is to whisk away the neighbor girl whom he may or may not have feelings for. probably not. but the taking is easy.

Jelly Roll Sampler Quilt Along
didn't mean to keep these a secret. i've made block 1, 2, 4, and 5. i need more green to complete block 3. this fabric has been around for awhile. but i spotted a few prints i did not have at one of my stores. to tell the truth i am not using a jelly roll. just happen to have about 12 prints. and plan to saturate the quilt with a few of the pinks. scattering the others as little as possible. all of the details can be found on Moose on the Porch Quilts. each block is made by a different designer. every two weeks. they are quick to assemble. mostly squares and rectangles. check the Flickr pool. or my Flickr set. a little birdie told me that our friend Nanette is soon to reveal her block. not next. but pretty soon.

VII thru IX
please visit other participants listed here.i almost forgot that Nelly was still telling the story. but wasn't she knitting not sewing when she started. or does Lockwood not know the difference. or has her telling been going on for days. now who the heck are Ellen and Frances. i know i am supposed to be following the story about the baby. but i had to stop just because i just need to. need to refer to the chart that is. thank you Melanie. Frances is the wife brought back by Catherine's brother. and Ellen i did guess is Nelly. really now she has three names. yes. and Melanie is a very nice blogger. who shared this link to all the helpful information. and so while Nelly and Lockwood work out how this story will continue. the behavior of the main characters reminds us just how young they really are. anyone else surprised at who was marking up the calendar. we've all done that. for one silly reason or another. thankfully today we have more grown-up things to keep track of.

Potholder Pass 2
these are the potholders i received from pastorkatiebishop. i like them alot. the fabrics are bright and cheery. love the decorative stitching. also got a very useful notepad. thank you so much Katie.my last potholders were machine-quilted a bit too much. so this time i hand-quilted. the front and back were done separately. i do love the look and feel of hand-stitching.to reduce the bulkiness i didn't like last time. i used one layer of insul-batting and one layer of reg-batting. and cut the back bigger so that i could also use it to bind. from scraps i included one of my Easie-Peasie Project Bags. Potholder Pass 3 starts soon.

please visit other participants listed here.Heathcliff calls her Nelly. but the renter Lockwood calls her Mrs. Dean. home after an interesting evening. Lockwood's family awaits. but he is more curious about the rude landlord and gossip that Nelly eagerly wants to tell. i wonder what she was knitting. her story drifts from her conversations with Lockwood to her conversations with young Healthcliff. while Emily muddles all the characters together. i have taken pencil to keep track of well everybody.

Easie-Peasie Project Bag (part 3)
place the ends of handle 2 in. away from one side edge. and 2-1/2 in. below top edge. pin in place thru one layer of zip bag. take other end of handle and pin in place on other side edge. check to see you have the regular pressure foot on. switch to a zig-zag stitch.sew in place starting at top edge. stopping and turning in a rectangle shape.top to bottom.on the bottom edge.from the bottom back to the top edge.and then across the top edge again.clip your threads. turn over your bag. pin other handle in place. because you can see thru. you won't need the ruler. clip your threads on this side. and now you are ready to use.while out taking photos with my niece and her friend. two of my knitters were anxious to start. i think they are going to do a very fine job.and these project bags will keep their blanket squares very organized.
Easie-Peasie Project Bag (part 2)
and the secret ingredient is.
a one gallon size freezer bag with zip top. mine measures 10-1/2 in. x 11 in. now before you run out and go buy a new ones. look around and see if you have an old one. you know you do. but let's get on with making some handles. if using 1 fat quarter. you will only need half of it. cut 2 pieces which are 5 in. x 18 in. if using 2-3 layer squares. cut each layer square in half. 2 halves make a handle. 4 halves will make both. if using 9-12 charms. cut 1 or 2 charms in half. 4-1/2 charms make a handle. 9 charms will make both. if using 3-4 jelly strips. cut 5 in. pieces. each strip should give you 6-8 pieces. you will need a total of 18 to make both handles. i will be using an assortment of scraps which are 5 in. wide.lay out your pieces in a pleasing arrangement. now take off that 1/4 in. pressure foot. and put on the regular one. because we will be doing some zig-zagging. it helps to sew the small strips together and then decide how much of the large strips you want to use. sew them together using the edge of your regular pressure foot as a guide. this will give you more than a 1/4 in. seam allowance. press to whichever side you prefer. that's the side you will be zig zagging over. now trim to 5 in. x 18 in. and zig-zag next to each seam catching the seam allowance you have pressed. this will make it stronger.fold in half lengthwise and iron. fold top and bottom long edges towards center and iron again.now fold short ends over. and also corners. pin and press.then fold short end up again. and fold long edges towards each other. pin and press.now pin long edges together. pin. press. and zig-zag along the long edge only.now make another one.come back in a couple of hours click to part 3 and i will guide you in sewing on the handles.

Easie-Peasie Project Bag (part 1)
would you like to make the easiest project bag ever?do you have leftover precuts.
that's all you need to get started.
so gather 9-12 charms. or 3-5 jelly strips. or 2-3 layer squares. or just 1 fat quarter. any scraps at least 5 in. wide will work.
come back in a few hours when click to part 2 and i will show you how to make these.and i will reveal the secret ingredient.
hmmm. should i let you know anything else. well. i could say that this project bag was not designed to hold heavy objects. although it can. and it might not last forever and ever and ever. although it might. but that should not discourage you from making one.

Some Summer Sky
while my five knitters are getting nervous. three of us on Friday will be picking colors. some decisions will be made by what the shop has in stock and whether we really want to order any online. so i am not sure what will happen. i like to be the chooser. but will listen listen listen. while that is going on i picked another yarn for just me me me. so don't get confused. there will be two blankets.first up (for me) is square #3. using Some Summer Sky. aka blue. it was 92 degrees here yesterday. my niece reminded me that it is not yet Summmer. but Spring. matching nailpolish just a coincidence.

I thru III
please visit other participants listed here.i could not resist purchasing two books. the clothbound hard-cover and the deluxe paper-cover. i definitely judge the book-reading by the cover. so it helps when i am holding a beautiful book. one has a 15-pg. introduction. the kind that is too much information when one is already trying to consume too much. but will appreciate later when you fully understand what you are reading. i will be reading them side by side. and at some point will find out why one has XXXIV chapters and one has only XX. can i ask how much longer before we get to the black and white scene on the moors where all that romantic talking takes place. and who is that telling me the story. and why. and how is he going to know what is happening when he is not around. i guess i am more comfortable with the narrator being anonymous.

Pinwheel Party : 1 and 5
even all cut up. love love love this bird print from My Aunt June. been playing around with denim lately. as much as i hate fashion denim yardage. the jeans i have ready to cut up will be for another project. i did see a glittery black denim in the clearance section and know a few people who would've loved that. but i like traditional denim and chose this crosshatch one. it will give me the look of the original pattern and that's what i wanted.
